सेना के एक बयान के मुताबिक पहला हमला बलूचिस्तान जिले के बांजगुर जिले में हुआ। मुठभेड़ में एक सैनिक की जान चली गई। बयान में कहा गया है कि कुछ घंटे बाद हमलावरों ने बलूचिस्तान के नौशकी स्थित एक सुरक्षा शिविर में घुसने की कोशिश की, लेकिन सैनिकों ने उनकी कोशिश नाकाम कर दी और चार हमलावरों को मार गिराया। गौरतलब है कि पाकिस्तान के बलूचिस्तान में लगातार आतंकी गतिविधियों के कारण इस क्षेत्र में अशांति बनी हुई है। पिछले दिनों पाकिस्तान के अशांत दक्षिण-पश्चिमी बलूचिस्तान प्रांत में सुरक्षा बलों की जांच चौकी पर आतंकी हमले में 10 सैनिकों की मौत हो गई थी। आतंकवादियों ने यह हमला २५-२६ जनवरी की रात को किया था। सेना की जवाबी कार्रवाई में एक आतंकवादी मारा गया और कई अन्य घायल हो गए थे।
