कानपुर । चौबेपुर के बिकरू गाँव में बीते दो जुलाई की आधी रात हुई सीओ समेत आठ पुलिसकर्मियों की हत्या का एक और आरोपी रामू वाजपेयी को पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार किया है। रामू की निशानदेही पर तालाब के पास से रायफल बरामद की गई है। रामू दो जुलाई की रात से वारदात के बाद से फरार था।
कुख्यात बदमाश विकास दुबे ने अपने गुर्गों की मदद से बीते दो जुलाई को बिकरू में पुलिस पर हमला बोल दिया था। चारों ओर से घेराबंदी कर सीओ बिल्हौर देवेन्द्र मिश्रा समेत आठ पुलिस कर्मियों की हत्या कर दी थी। घटना के बाद पुलिस ने विकास दुबे समेत छह आरोपियों को मुठभेड़ में मार गिराया लेकिन कई आरोपी अभी तक फरार थे। पुलिस ने इस मामले में अब तक 22 लोगों को गिरफ्तार कर चुकी है वहीं, चार आरोपी कोर्ट में सरेंडर कर चुके हैं।
बिकरू गांव निवासी रामू वाजपेयी भी पुलिस पर हमले में शामिल था। चौबेपुर पुलिस ने रविवार देर रात सुज्जा निवादा गांव के मोड़ से रामू को दबोच लिया। रामू अपने किसी करीबी से मिलने जा रहा था। पूछताछ के बाद उसकी निशानदेही पर तालाब के पास स्थित बांस की कोठी से एक रायफल बरामद कर ली है। पुलिस का दावा है कि रामू ने इसी असलहे से पुलिस पर हमला किया था। हमले के बाद रायफल बांस की कोठी में छिपाकर फरार हो गया था।
