देहरादून (संवाददाता)। गढ़वाल राइफल्स के पूर्व सैनिकों ने 1962 में भारत-चीन युद्ध के बाद भारत सरकार की ओर से मिले सम्मान के अवसर पर रविवार को नूरानांग बैटल ऑनर डे मनाया। इस अवसर नूरानांग के हीरो शहीद जसवंत सिंह रावत सहित अन्य शहीद सैनिकों को श्रद्धांजलि दी गई। दून सैनिक इंस्टीट्टयूट गढ़ी में रविवार की 4 गढ़वाल राइफल्स के पूर्व सैनिकों की ओर से दोपहर में कार्यक्रम का आयोजन हुआ। सबसे पहले शहीद जसवंत सिंह रावत के चित्र पर माल्यार्पण कर श्रद्धांजलि दी गई। इसके साथ ही 1962 की लड़ाई में शामिल रहे जरनल बीएम भट्टाचार्य, कर्नल एसएस नेगी, कर्नल एनएस खत्री, कर्नल एससी कपटियाल की रिटायर होने के बाद मृत्यु होने पर श्रद्धांजलि दी गई। कार्यक्रम में 1962 की लड़ाई में शामिल रहे ऑनरी कैप्टन विरेंद्र सिंह और दुर्गा राय को सम्मानित भी किया गया। इसके बाद 4 गढ़वाल राइफल्स के सेवानिवृत्त वीरों ने उस समय की कहानी सुनाई। पूर्व सैनिकों ने बताया कि अरुणाचल प्रदेश के पूर्व में स्थित नूरानांग में 1962 का ऐतिहासिक युद्ध लड़ा गया था। चीनी सेना की 5 डिवीजन ने बोमला पास से होते हुए तबांग व जंग के इलाके में हमारी सेना का चीनी सेना से युद्ध हुआ। 15 नवंबर से 17 नवंबर 1962 के शाम तक हमारी बटालियन के ऊपर 5 बार हमला किया गया, लेकिन हर हमले में चीनी सेना नाकाम हुई। इस लड़ाई में 4 गढ़वाल राइफल्स के काफी सैनिक शहीद हुए थे। युद्ध समाप्त होने के बाद भारत सरकार ने 4वीं गढ़वाल राइफल्स को बैटल ऑनर डे से नवाजा। इसीलिए जहां-जहां भी यूनिट है, वहां आज के दिन कार्यक्रम आयोजित होता है। कहा कि 4 गढ़वाल राइफल्स के ही जसवंत सिंह रावत ने 3 दिन तक चीनी सैनिकों के साथ अकेले लड़ाई लड़ी। इसकी कारण आज भी तवांग सेक्टर में जो भी सैनिक जाते हैं वो जसवंत गढ़(नूरानांग) में श्रद्धा से अपने शीश झुकाते हैं। आम जनमानस भी यहां पर रुककर शीश झुकाने के बाद ही आगे के सफर में बढ़ते हैं।
