नई दिल्ली । सरकार ने अफवाह या फेक न्यूज पर अंकुश लगाने के लिए नया कानून बना लिया है और उसे कैबिनेट से पास कराने की तैयारी कर ली गई है। सूत्रों के अनुसार नए कानून के बाद फेसबुक और गूगल जैसी कंपनियां अपनी जिम्मेदारी से भाग नहीं सकेंगी। हाल में सोशल मीडिया पर फैले फेक न्यूज और उसके प्रतिकूल असर के मद्देनजर सरकार ने मौजूदा आईटी ऐक्ट के तहत धारा-79 में संशोधन का प्रस्ताव बना दिया है। पीएमओ ने आईटी मिनिस्ट्री के इस संशोधन प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी है और अब इसे कैबिनेट के सामने पेश किया जाएगा जिसके बाद यह बदलाव प्रभावी हो जाएगी। इस संशोधन में कहा गया कि गूगल, फेसबुक, वॉट्सऐप जैसी कंपनियां भी फेक न्यूज या अफवाह से जुड़े कंटेट को फैलाने के लिए जिम्मेदार होगी। अभी कंटेट के प्रसार का मीडियम बनने वाली इन सोशल मीडिया कंपनियों को इसके लिए सीधे जिम्मेदार नहीं माना गया है। सरकार के अनुसार इसके लिए इन कंपिनयों के जिम्मेदार बनाने के बाद वे इन बातों पर गंभीरता से लेंगे।
सरकार की मांगों पर नहीं है गंभीर -सूत्रों के अनुसार सरकार की सबसे बड़ी चिंता है कि हाल में सोशल मीडिया के लगातार बढ़ते दुरुपयोग के बीच इससे जुड़ी कंपनियां इसे रोकने की दिशा में बिल्कुल गंभीर नहीं है। अब इस मामले को पीएमओ ने खुद अपनी निगरानी में लिया है। सरकार के लगभग एक दर्जन लेटर का इन कंपनियों की ओर से कोई जवाब नहीं दिया गया।
इसके बाद पीएमओ ने इनकी जिम्मेदारी तय करने के लिए आईटी मिनिस्ट्री को कानून बनाने को कहा था। धारा-79 में बदलाव के अलावा इन सभी सोशल मीडिया कंपनियों के लिए भारत से जुड़े यूजर्स का डाटा भारत में ही रहे इसके लिए भी ड्राफ्ट कानून जल्द पेश किया जाएगा।
