नयी दिल्ली । रेल मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने ट्रेन 18 के दिल्ली से वाराणसी तक जाने की पुष्टि करते हुए बुधवार को कहा कि ट्रेन का सफर आठ घंटे का होगा और इसकी गति इस मार्ग पर सबसे तीव्र गति वाली ट्रेन से डेढ़ गुना ज्यादा होगी। रेलवे कहता रहा है कि उसने ट्रेन के दो मार्गों दिल्ली से भोपाल और दिल्ली से वाराणसी का प्रस्ताव दिया था लेकिन यह पहली बार है जब इसके मार्ग की आधिकारिक रूप से पुष्टि की गई।
गोयल ने कहा कि हमने ट्रेन का सफल परीक्षण कर लिया है और सुझावों को लागू किया जा रहा है। जल्द ही ट्रेन राष्ट्र का समर्पित की जाएगी और हमने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से इसे हरी झंडी दिखाने का अनुरोध किया है। यह ट्रेन आठ घंटों में दिल्ली से वाराणसी की दूरी तय करेगी। अब तक दोनों शहरों के बीच चलने वाली सबसे तीव्र गति वाली ट्रेन साढ़े ग्यारह घंटे का समय लेती है। नयी दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन पर ट्रेन का निरीक्षण करने वाले रेल मंत्री ने कहा कि इस ट्रेन में वाई-फाई, सीसीटीवी कैमरों के साथ अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकों की सुविधाएं होंगी और इसमें कोई इंजन नहीं है। यह ट्रेनसेट है। यह 160 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की अधिकतम रफ्तार के साथ 750 किलोमीटर की दूरी तय करेगी। उन्होंने बताया कि रेलवे सुरक्षा बल (आरपीएफ) ट्रेन 18 के मार्ग के बारे में लोगों को जानकारी देने के वास्ते अभियान चला रहा है ताकि हाल ही में दिल्ली के समीप इसके परीक्षण के दौरान पत्थर फेंके जाने वाली घटनाएं दोबारा ना हो। आरपीएफ अधिकारियों ने बताया कि वे झुग्गी बस्ती में रहने वाले बच्चों को खेलने के लिए खिलौने, चॉकबोर्ड, फुटबॉल दे रहे हैं ताकि वे पत्थरों का इस्तेमाल ना करें। बहरहाल, गोयल ने इस ट्रेन के पहली बार संचालन के लिए कोई तारीख बताने से इनकार कर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि इस ट्रेन की सेवा जल्द ही शुरू होगी।
