Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Nanak 
one of the great saints of Bharat 
devoted his divine-self to the upliftment of humans 
by eliminating communal and caste oriented hatred 
reshaping emotional bonds of humanity 
the best service to the supreme God. 
Guru Nanak 
the first Guru of sikhdom 
founder of the new sect 
enjoys the distinguished place among great saints 
who travelled most extensively covering areas 
more than the size of present day Bharat travelling on foot 
preaching harmony and love in order to promote peace 
amid widespread bloodshed and communal storms of medieval times. 
Guru Nanak 
visualized a world 
where hatred completely melted away to give way to world peace 
he worked day and night to instill humane feelings in the hearts of people 
restlessly he moved about vast regions 
inspiring people to become selfless and cultured. 
Guru Nanak’s successors 
continued to preach people for their moral refinement
but the tenth Guru with human appearance 
took up the greater challenge
combining marshal power with spiritual strength 
posing threat to Aurangzeb the bigoted emperor
adhering to a new path turning sikhs to marshal community 
entrusting them with a tough task of defending the whole motherland
so gracefully he rose to greater heights 
sacrificing his whole existence to inculcate 
feelings of patriotism and love to one’s own country.
