Cyber Specialist Ankur Chandrakant’s Apprehensions Do Hold Water

-Writer- Savitri putra Vir Jhuggiwala , Dehradun
Chinese so called social networking service Tik Tok is in the eye of storm for its antisocial approach to glamourising crime. Videos propagating a young man throwing acid on a young lady is criminal in content. Such videos encourage anti-social acts like acid-attacks and thus carry criminal motive prima-faci as the victim lady can be seen posing herself comfortably in sharp contrast to a victim’s plight. Such acts in a so called social platform which reportedly has emerged as one of the most popular apps is saddening and shocking both. Uploading of videos breeding corrupt mindsets and fostering distortion in societies must be dubbed as a serious crime is a view which is gathering momentum. A leading cyber crime expert of Uttarakhand termed these videos heinous crime and demanded immediate closure down of the app in India for maintaining social modesty and decorum on social apps.
Prominent cyber expert Ankur Chandrakant lodged a complaint a week ago with “national cyber crime reporting portal” against Mumbai based Tik Tokker Faizal Siddique. Tik Tokker Faizal is seen hurling acid over a young lady victim who appears in a compromising “state of mind” so much so as the act was a mere play and just an entertainment. Dehradun based cyber expert in deeply hurt to observe the fact that on one hand Faizal does a crime while on the other hand lady-victim (supposed to be) flashes expressions of ‘calm and composed’ nature, rather registering agony and disgust against the criminal in her spontaneous reaction. Faizal not only tailored such an objectionable video but tried his best to viral it in order to earn fame and name. Ankur severely contends the malign objective of the video and demands decisive legal action against the performers as well as the company concerned. Senior cyber forensic expert Ankur feels a social movement is urgently needed to boycott such cyber foreign companies who earn huge sums jeopardizing social harmony and sobriety, altogether.
Tik Tok has done many business deals in recent past including in America to spreading its wings beyond Asia successfully. It is free to do so but it can not be given absolute freedom to encourage criminal tendencies in the Indian societies. This Chinese so called social networking service be banned in this country for the sake of country’s social interests, at large.
Meanwhile, there is a strong anti Dragonistan wave of anger and distrust prevailing across the globe. Bharat is not an exception. World-community is gearing up to pull out of this country in business terms and create a reliable new economic world-order. Multinational companies of many countries like America, Australia and Bharat will certainly keep themselves dis-connected from Dragonistan’s business-giants in near future. After corona virus like unfortunate episode nobody is willing to do trade with Dragon barring a few of its traditional friends which doesn’t matter. American and major economies of Europe ought to develop an altogether different economic road-map to cure the Dragon’s menace and Bharat must play its role reasonably well . IT based companies of Dragonistan are not beyond suspicion. They deserve strict-scrutiny one by one in a democratic country like ours. If any one is found functioning in violation of any national or international “code of conduct” then it must be dislodged with immediate effect from Bharat, at least. Last but not the least, the video amounts to mocking victims of acid attack thus it must be viewed as a ghastly act against the dignity of such victims, too, particularly when the victim is a lady.
