चंपावत/उत्तराखंड । चंपावत उपचुनाव में भाजपा के दो लक्ष्य थे। पहला रिकॉर्ड मतदान करना और दूसरा उपचुनाव में सबसे ज्यादा अंतर से जीत हासिल करना। मतदान में नया रिकॉर्ड बनाने की मंशा तो भाजपा की पूरी नहीं हो पाई, लेकिन उपचुनाव में सबसे ज्यादा अंतर से जीत हासिल करना लक्ष्य पूरा हो गया है। सीएम पुष्कर सिंह धामी की जीत के साथ ही उत्तराखंड में नया इतिहास जुड़ गया है। उपचुनाव में उनकी जीत तो पहले से ही तय थी, लेकिन सीएम के लिए जीत से ज्यादा रिकॉर्ड के मायने थे और रिकॉर्ड जीत के लिए टीम धामी ने मजबूती से काम किया। चंपावत उपचुनाव में ५८ हजार से अधिक वोटों से जीत नया कीर्तिमान रचा है।पार्टी ने इस चुनाव को हल्के में नहीं लिया। यही वजह रही कि अब तक कोई मुख्यमंत्री उपचुनाव में इतने मतों से नहीं जीता है। यूपी के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ, रक्षा राज्य मंत्री और उत्तराखंड के दो पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री ने भी चंपावत आकर प्रचार को धार दी है। संगठन के स्तर पर राष्ट्रीय महामंत्री विनोद तावड़े, प्रदेश प्रभारी दुष्यंत कुमार गौतम, सह प्रभारी रेखा वर्मा सहित संगठन के दिग्गजों ने कार्यकर्ताओं को अधिक मतदान के लिए प्रेरित करते रहे, जिसने धामी के पक्ष को मजबूत किया।सीएम धामी की जीत के यूं तो कई मुख्य कारण रहे, लेकिन इसमें एक सबसे बड़ी वजह कमजोर विपक्ष भी रहा। चंपावत उपचुनाव प्रचार शुरू होने से मतदान निपटने तक कांग्रेस के ९० प्रतिशत वरिष्ठ कार्यकर्ता नदारद थे। इसके लिए सबने कई बहाने बनाए। कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी निर्मला गहतोड़ी भी इस रवैया से आहत हुई।वर्ष २०१२ के उपचुनाव में तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री विजय बहुगुणा ने ५३७६६ वोट लाकर सितारगंज सीट ३९९६६ वोटों से जीती थी। वहीं चंपावत सीट पर सबसे बड़ी जीत २०१७ में भाजपा के कैलाश गहतोड़ी की १७३६० वोटों से रही।
