रुडकी (संवाददाता)। नगर निगम क्षेत्र में हाउस टैक्स के नए प्रस्तावित रेट बुधवार को सार्वजनिक कर दिए। रेट सार्वजनिक होते ही विरोध होना शुरू हो गया है। जनप्रतिनिधियों ने हाउस टैक्स में की गई वृद्धि को जन विरोधी बताया है। पूर्व मेयर इसके लिए जनता के बीच में जाने की बात कर रहे हैं। जबकि पूर्व पार्षद प्रस्तावित रेट के खिलाफ आपत्ति दर्ज कराने के बात भी कह रहे हैं। नगर निगम में वित्तीय वर्ष 2015-16 से स्व गृहकर नीति लागू की थी। चार वर्ष पूरे हो जाने के बाद लागू टैक्स रेट में बढ़ोतरी का प्रावधान है। जिसके तहत ही रुड़की नगर निगम ने हाउस टैक्स के नए रेट की सूची बीते मंगलवार को जारी भी कर दी है। नगर निगम की प्रस्तावित सूची में टैक्स रेट में चालीस से पचास फीसदी की वृद्धि कर दी गई है। जिसका सीधा असर नगर निगम क्षेत्र के 20 हजार आवासीय घरों पर पडऩे वाला है, लेकिन नगर निगम की ओर से जारी टैक्स रेट की प्रस्तावित सूची को लेकर विरोध की आवाज उठने लगी है। पूर्व मेयर यशपाल राणा भी इस प्रकार 50 प्रतिशत तक टैक्स रेट में बढ़ोतरी के खिलाफ हैं। उनका कहना है कि नगर निगम जनता की सुविधाओं को बढ़ाने के लिए बनाया गया है न कि उन पर अत्याधिक टैक्स का भार डालने के लिए। पूर्व पार्षद पंकज सतीजा और राकेश गर्ग ने टैक्स रेट में हुई बढ़ोतरी पर आपत्ति दर्ज कराने की बात कह रहे हैं। सिविल लाइंस क्षेत्र के रेट में हुई सबसे अधिक वृद्धिवैसे तो सभी तेईस मोहल्लों में आवासीय भवनों पर टैक्स के रेट में बढ़ोतरी हुई है। लेकिन सबसे अधिक रेट सिविल लाइंस क्षेत्र के बढ़े हैं। सिविल लाइंस क्षेत्र में अलग -अलग चौड़ाई की सड़कों के लिए पूर्व में टैक्स के रेट 1.50, 2.00, 2.50, 1.25, 1.75 व 2.25 रुपये प्रति वर्गफुट थे। लेकिन वर्तमान रेट 2.25, 3.00, 3.75, 1.90, 2.65, 3.40 रुपये प्रति वर्गफुट प्रस्तावित किए गए हैं।
इस प्रकार 50 प्रतिशत तक हाउस टैक्स के रेट में बढ़ोतरी पूरी तरह गलत है। यदि नगर निगम अधिकारी इसमें संशोधन नहीं करते हैं तो हम जनता के बीच जाएंगे। -यशपाल राणा, पूर्व मेयर
