देहरादून (सू0वि0)। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र सिंह रावत नें शनिवार को मुख्यमंत्री आवास में हिमालय बचाओ अभियान के अन्तर्गत सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं, पर्यावरण विदों, मीडिया प्रतिनिधियों के दल व उपस्थित अधिकारी व कार्मिकों को हिमालय के संरक्षण की शपथ दिलाई। इस मौके पर मीडिया से अनौपचारिक बातचीत में मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र ने कहा कि विगत कई वर्षों से 9 सितम्बर को हिमालय दिवस मनाया जा रहा है। इस वर्ष हिमालय सप्ताह के रूप में आज इसका शुभारम्भ हो गया है। हमारा प्रयास है कि मात्र एक दिन हिमालय दिवस मनाने से यह कर्मकाण्ड न बन कर रह जाए। पूरे सप्ताह स्थान-स्थान पर गोष्ठीयां, सेमिनार आदि आयोजित किए जाएंगे। सुरक्षित हिमालय न केवल भारत बल्कि विश्व की एक बड़ी आबादी को प्रभावित करता है। जीवन को सुरक्षित करने के लिए हिमालय का संरक्षण आवश्यक है। इसके लिए सबको सरकार के प्रयासों के साथ ही अपनी सामूहिक जिम्मेदारी लेकर हिमालय के संरक्षण के लिए महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभानी होगी। हमारे लगभग 65 प्रतिशत खाद्यान्न की आपूर्ति गंगा बेसिन से होती है जबकि 65 प्रतिशत पानी हिमालय से ही मिलता है। हिमालय के अध्यात्मिक, सामाजिक, स्वास्थ्य व आर्थिक दृष्टि से भारी प्रभाव दृष्टिगत है। हिमालय पवित्रता का भी प्रतीक है। हिमालय संरक्षण मात्र शाब्दिक ही नही है बल्कि अध्यात्मिक भी है। हिमालय संरक्षण विरासत व भविष्य दोनों ही है। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री के स्वच्छ भारत अभियान के प्रभावी सामाजिक व आर्थिक परिणाम आए है। हमें अपनी नदियों के पुनर्जीवीकरण व स्वच्छता पर विशेष ध्यान देना होगा। नदियां जल परिवहन का माध्यम है न कि कूड़ा-कचरा परिवहन के लिए। वृक्षारोपण के प्रति लोगों में भावनात्मक रूचि बढ़े। हमने प्रत्येक जिले के एक-एक नदी के पुनर्जीवीकरण के साथ ही ब्लॉक स्तर पर भी एक-एक जल स्त्रोत को पुनर्जीवित करने पर विचार किया है। देहरादून में सौंग बांध पर तेजी से कार्य हो रहा है। सौंग बांध निर्माण से न केवल लोगो को ग्रेविटी बेस्ड जलापूर्ति मिलेगी बल्कि सालभर बिजली का व्यय भी बचेगा। इस अवसर पर परमार्थ निकेतन के स्वामी चिदानन्द, पर्यावरणविद् डॉ अनिल जोशी, ईको टास्क फोर्स से सेवानिवृत कर्नल एचआरएस राणा भी उपस्थित थे।
