नयी दिल्ली । राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद और प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी सहित कई राजनीतिक हस्तियों ने शुक्रवार को दिवंगत केंद्रीय मंत्री रामविलास पासवान के अंतिम दर्शन किए और उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की। पासवान ने बृहस्पतिवार शाम अंतिम सांस ली। उनके पार्थिव शरीर को उनके सरकारी आवास पर अंतिम दर्शन के लिए रखा गया है। भाजपा अध्यक्ष जे पी नड्डा, भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (भाकपा) के राष्ट्रीय महासचिव डी राजा, केंद्रीय मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह, हर्षवर्धन और अश्विनी चौबे सहित कई नेताओं ने उनके अंतिम दर्शन किए और दिवंगत नेता को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की। राष्ट्रपति कोविंद और प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने दिवंगत नेता के अंतिम दर्शन के बाद शोक संतप्त परिवार को सांत्वना भी दी। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने पासवान की पत्नी, उनके बेटे चिराग पासवान और परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों से कुछ देर बात भी की। देश के प्रमुख दलित नेताओं में शुमार पासवान 74 वर्ष के थे। लोजपा के संस्थापक और उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य एवं सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्री पासवान कई सप्ताह से यहां के एक अस्पताल में भर्ती थे। हाल ही में उनके दिल का ऑपरेशन हुआ था। समाजवादी आंदोलन के स्तंभों में से एक पासवान बाद के दिनों में बिहार के प्रमुख दलित नेता के रूप में उभरे और उन्होंने जल्द ही राष्ट्रीय राजनीति में अपनी विशेष जगह बना ली। पासवान की 1990 के दशक में अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग के आरक्षण से जुड़े मंडल आयोग की सिफारिशों को लागू करवाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रही।
