यूएन रिपोर्ट में खुलासा
नई दिल्ली । नवजात शिशुओं की मौत को लेकर यूएन की एक रिपोर्ट चौंकाने वाली है। इस रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, हर 2 मिनट में भारत में तीन नवजात शिशुओं की मौत हो जाती है। मौत स्वच्छ पेयजल उपलब्ध नहीं होने, सफाई, उचित पोषण या बुनियादी स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं की कमी के कारण होती है। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, 2017 में भारत में करीब 8,02,000 नवजात शिशुओं की मौत हुई। भले ही यह आंकड़ा पांच सालों में सबसे कम है लेकिन दुनिया में यह सबसे अधिक है। वैसे डब्ल्यूएचओ में स्वास्थ्य प्रमुख डॉ.गगन गुप्ता ने कहा कि भारत सरकार ने नवजात शिशुओं की मौत से निपटने के लिए कई कदम उठाए हैं। सरकार मौत का कारण बनने वाली चीजों से निपटने के लिए हर संभव कोशिश कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा, ध्यान देने वाली बात है कि भारत में हर साल 2.5 करोड़ जन्म दर है। नवजात शिशुओं की मृत्यु दर में कमी आई है और पांच सालों में सबसे कम है। ऐसा पहली बार हुआ है कि पांच साल से कम आयु के बच्चे की जन्म और मृत्यु की संख्या बराबर हो गई है। अगला कदम मृत्यु की संख्या को कम करना होगा। उन्होंने बताया कि बच्चों की मौत के मुख्य कारणों में स्वच्छ पेयजल उपलब्ध नहीं होना, सफाई, उचित पोषण या बुनियादी स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं की कमी शामिल हैं। भारत में सबसे ज्यादा नवजात शिशुओं की मौत दर्ज की गई। उसके बाद नाइजीरिया में 4,66,000 और फिर पाकिस्तान में 3,30,000 नवजात शिशुओं की मौत हुई।
