नईदिल्ली । दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने दो समलैंगिक जोड़ों की अलग-अलग याचिकाओं पर बुधवार को केंद्र से जवाब मांगा। एक याचिका में विशेष विवाह कानून (एसएमए) के तहत विवाह की अनुमति देने और एक अन्य याचिका में अमेरिका में हुए विवाह को विदेश विवाह कानून (एफएमए) के तहत पंजीकृत किए जाने का अनुरोध किया गया है।
न्यायमूर्ति आर एस एंडलॉ और न्यायमूर्ति आशा मेनन की पीठ ने केंद्र और दिल्ली सरकार को नोटिस जारी करके उनसे एसएमए के तहत विवाह की अनुमति मांगने वाली दो महिलाओं की याचिका पर अपना रुख बताने को कहा है।
अदालत ने अमेरिका में विवाह करने वाले दो पुरुषों की एक अन्य याचिका पर केंद्र और न्यूयॉर्क में भारत के महावाणिज्य दूतावास को भी नोटिस जारी किया है। इस जोड़े के विवाह का एफएमए के तहत पंजीकरण किए जाने से इनकार कर दिया गया था।
पीठ ने मामले की आगे की सुनवाई के लिए आठ जनवरी 2021 की तारीख तय की है।
